Nicholas Alexander Chavez Lands Major ‘Supermax’ Role – Is Spencer Really Coming Back to GH?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that one ABC soap alum has an exciting project in the works.

GH fans know Nicholas Alexander Chavez best for his time playing Spencer Cassadine in Port Charles, but he’s scored some high-profile roles since then – including a big one that’s coming up.

According to Deadline, Chavez has joined the cast of an action-thriller film called Supermax for Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax.

Although no details have been revealed yet about who Chavez will be playing, the movie’s premise is definitely intriguing.

Will Smith and AnnaSophia Robb will portray a couple of FBI agents who launch a challenging investigation.

After a murder occurs in a maximum-security prison, the duo will solve a whodunit that’ll no doubt deliver major twists and turns.

In addition to Nicholas Alexander Chavez’s part in the film, you can expect to see Andrés Almeida, Martin Bats Bradford, Erika Ringor, Jaafar Jackson and Jason Clarke in roles of their own.

Production for the movie only just began in New South Wales, Australia, so it’ll be a while before it makes it to the screen.

However, Amazon MGM and Miramax’s deal means that Supermax will eventually have a worldwide release on Prime Video.

Following Chavez’s GH departure, he made quite a splash playing Lyle Menendez in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story on Netflix.

Chavez then took part in another Ryan Murphy production through his work on FX’s Grotesquerie.

Chavez has also wrapped filming on a psychological thriller called The Technique, so that’s another film for fans to look forward to while we await Supermax’s arrival.

Plus, you catch Chavez in the upcoming Possession horror remake, which is set to be released in 2027.

It’s great news that Nicholas Alexander Chavez is finding success, but what does this mean for Spencer’s future on GH?

Spencer was presumed dead, but the role could ultimately be recast with a new actor down the road.

Since danger is brewing for Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup), there’s a chance he’ll be killed off to prepare for Spencer’s return with a new face.

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) may need another love interest at some point, so stay tuned for any cast developments to come.
